Emma Montague newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes looking to stay active

I have always been a fairly active person and have maintained a reasonable level of fitness throughout my adult life. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just 3 months ago and it came a quite a shock - not so common at the age of 40! Once I had my glucose levels more under control I began to think about introducing exercise back into my life.

However, I found that it was really difficult to find good practical information about ‘how to’ achieve this! I felt very anxious about getting hypos and found myself putting it off and putting it off. Then I stumbled across this website and found all the information I could possibly have wanted - and more!

In fact I have learnt more about Type 1 Diabetes through the e-coaching modules in this site than I have in any book or website.

I have really enjoyed learning about the physiology of diabetes and feel that I have a much better understanding and am more equipped to manage it well. I’m now two weeks into exercise and with the website’s help I am managing my glucose levels well on the days when I exercise.
